Small-scale and modern GP practice in Rotterdam West
In our practice, we do things a little differently. Our goal is to provide good care with the shortest possible communication lines between the general practitioner and the patient. Efficient where possible, so that we can be close and involved when needed. A small, dedicated team. A ‘village doctor’ in the big city.

Our approach
We believe in personalized care, in a modern setting. The approach in our practice is therefore different from what you may be accustomed to in other practices. Almost everything can be easily arranged through the online portal.
With our online portal, you have direct contact with the general practitioner through the website or app.
You can ask the general practitioner a question through the Messages button. You will receive a prompt response, often within an hour. This could be a message, but you may also be called if more information is needed. Therefore, make sure to remain reachable by phone after asking your question.
- Appointment scheduling: you can schedule your appointment at a time that suits you through the calendar.
- Results: you will receive automatic notification when the results of your examinations are ready, along with corresponding advice from the general practitioner.
- Medication: repeat prescriptions, send a message if your desired medication is not listed.
If you prefer not to use the portal, give the practice a call at 010-4761687. Press 9 for English and simply follow the options provided in the menu.
Always ask emergency questions by phone, select option 1 in the menu. Emergency means that you consider your symptoms so serious that the general practitioner needs to interrupt their work immediately to assist you. In life-threatening situations, call 112.”
You can only come to the practice by appointment. We operate without a front desk assistant; the doctor receives an automatic alert when the next patient is in the waiting room, so feel free to take a seat.
Our team

R.J. Vogels, general practitioner
Available on: monday, tuesday, thursday, friday
General Practitioner R.J. Vogels was trained at the Erasmus MC and graduated as a physician in 2018. After a year in the Internal Medicine / Emergency Department, he pursued general practitioner training while also working in a nursing home. In 2022, he completed the general practitioner training with honors. ‘The diversity of general practice is beautiful; nowhere else are you so close to your patients, able to practice medicine in such a broad spectrum. I consciously choose practice ownership in a form that suits me and that I believe in. Not scaling up but scaling down. The strength of good healthcare depends on the doctor-patient relationship, being truly present for people, providing tailored care. The challenges for healthcare are enormous and will only grow. By practicing medicine in a new way, with short communication lines between doctor and patient, utilizing all the digital possibilities available, I believe we can meet those challenges.

Selma Curebal, mental health worker
Available on: tuesdays
Our mental health worker, Mrs. Selma Curebal, provides diagnostics and guidance for mental health issues. She reserves 30 to 45 minutes for an appointment with you and, together with you, explores the best solution for your problems. She can also advise you on further treatment in secondary mental health care if necessary. She works in the practice on Tuesdays.

Petra Kamphorst, practice nurse
Available on: thursdays
Our practice nurse, Mrs. Petra Kamphorst, guides you if you have diabetes, asthma, COPD, if you are overweight or if you want to quit smoking. She also monitors individuals with cardiovascular diseases for their risk factors. She takes ample time to provide you with information and advice, and she fully screens and examines you according to the protocol. She works in the practice on Thursdays.”

Locum GP
Available on: wednesday
Every Wednesday, a female locum GP works at the practice. A locum GP has access to your medical records. They have had exactly the same training as your own GP, so their medical knowledge is comparable.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about the online patient portal
You can install the app by downloading the Uw Zorg online App from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) and following the instructions on your screen
After registering in the app or via the website, we will verify your information. Afterward, we will link your account to your medical records. This process may take several days.
An account provides access to personal medical information at the practice. Therefore, everyone needs their own account. A unique email address is required for each account, including children. For family members without their own email address, you can create one.
You can easily create a free additional email address through various providers. You can also choose to use an alias, in which case emails from the new address will be delivered to your own mailbox. All common mail providers support this option, please check in the guidelines of your mail provider.
You can only order medications through the portal that you have been using for a long time. Additionally, you can only order medications that are prescribed by us, and not, for example, those from the hospital specialist.
In general, you cannot order high-risk medication through the portal. This includes, for example, addictive sleep medication or strong painkillers.
For medications not listed, you can send a message. Mention that you would like to order the medication through the portal from now on, and the doctor can assess whether the medication is suitable for that.

Questions about your visit to the practice
Do not come to the practice without an appointment. We always work by appointment. If you come in without an appointment, please be aware that you may need to wait until the doctor is available to assist you. It’s also possible that the door will not be opened for you if the doctor is out on visits. In case of an emergency, please call the emergency line.
With the way we work, you have direct communication with the doctor, and much of the work is quickly handled by the doctor personally. A dedicated team of assistants provides remote telephone support. There is currently a shortage of medical assistants in Rotterdam, and the design of the practice does not allow for staffing the front desk all day with limited personnel.
Letters and Forms
We send all referral letters, lab forms, and other sensitive information via secure email. You don’t need to pick them up at the practice.
Collection of containers for your examination
Containers for urine, stool, or swabs are available for you in the waiting room. Feel free to take them; you can come in between 08:00 and 11:00. Please label your container with your name and birthdate and submit it to the laboratory.
If it’s more convenient for you, containers for urine can also be obtained from any pharmacy. Containers for both urine and stool can also be collected at any STAR SHL location.
Other questions
Thuisarts.nl (Dutch) is intended for everyone seeking information about health and illness. The information is compiled by general practitioners and medical specialists, and it is safe and based on the latest guidelines and scientific insights.
There are many rules regarding making referrals. You can find them on Verwijsafspraken.nl (Dutch)
We want to highlight a few things:
- A referral should be made before visiting the healthcare provider. Making a referral letter afterwards is legally prohibited.
- For services like physiotherapy, podiatry, speech therapy, etc., a referral letter is generally not required.
- If you are already under treatment for a condition with a specialist, a new referral is not necessary as long as the treatment has not been officially concluded with a closing letter, even if you experience symptoms again after some time.
As a general practitioner, I am not allowed to provide a medical statement about my own patients. A medical statement can only be issued by an independent physician. You can read on this page why this is regulated this way and what steps you can take.
It is not allowed to perform driver’s license examinations for patients registered in the practice. If you are a patient with another general practitioner, you can call to make an appointment for a driver’s license examination
If you are dissatisfied with us or your treatment, feel free to discuss this with us. We will do our utmost to see if we can find a solution.
If you find this difficult or cannot resolve it with us, you can discuss your complaint with an independent and impartial complaints officer from the SKGE. You can find more information here.
